SuperCut Premium Bimetal Bandsaw Blades are a superior blade with high alloy, high speed M2 steel teeth and a spring steel back to provide flexibility and toughness in the blade. Bimetal blades will give lower cost per cut on tough sawing jobs. Bimetal blades are welded by an electron beam under high vacuum to attach the strip of high speed M2 steel to the spring steel back. The teeth are then milled or ground into the M2 steel.

SuperCut Premium Bimetal Blades will cut a variety of materials, including wood, plastics, soft metals, standard steel products, and hard to cut metals such as stainless steel. Bimetal Blades have a higher initial cost than Carbon Tool Steel Blades, but they will generally outlast Carbon Tool Steel Blades by approximately 10 times, so the cost per cut is considerably less. Structural shapes should be cut at a blade speed of 350 fpm (feet per minute) wet, 200-250 fpm dry. When cutting solids, blade speeds should be 300 fpm or less wet, 200 fpm or less dry.

NOTE: all cutting should follow the simple rule of no less than 2 teeth in contact with the cut at all times, while not allowing more than approximately 10 teeth to contact the cut. Any fewer than 2 teeth in contact can allow the material to drop into the gullet of the blade, causing teeth to shear off. Allowing more than approximately 10 teeth to contact the cut can cause the teeth to not remove the waste effectively and can cause binding in the cut and also damage the teeth and set.

Initial Impressions - an Excellent Blade

This blade was purchased for cutting 1" x 18ga and 7/8" x 16ga square steel tube on a Jet HVBS-712 bandsaw. The blade that came with the saw was a 6-10 variable pitch and came with a small section of misshaped teeth that caused it to bounce in the cut. The Supercut blade, with a more appropriate pitch and well-formed teeth, cuts much cleaner and quieter!

Like a knife through hot butter

Worth the extra $ for the bi-metal, cuts smooth and straight through stock for days and holds up great even without any lube/coolant. Using on old delta horizontal saw.

Cuts everything I need it to.

Cut 3 pieces of 3" square tubing x 1/4" thick walls.

Cut 3" steel square tubing x 1/4" thick walls and some 1" dia. alum. Did a very good job of both.

Bimetal Blades Last Longer

Dont waste your money on the cheaper carbon steel blades. Although bimetal blades cost more they last 3 times longer.
